Anti Ovarian Antibodies, Serum

5 Day(s)

Reference Range

Anti ovarian antibodies are typically found in women with premature ovarian failure (POF). Up to 70% of women with this condition have large amounts of anti ovarian antibodies in their bloodstream. Premature menopause and unexplained infertility are also associated with ovarian antibodies. Women with Addisons Disease, thyroid disease, and endometriosis are also more likely to have anti-ovarian antibodies. Therefore, the evaluation of anti ovarian autoimmunity could be a tool of prognosis for infertility treatments, especially in IVF; the PRESENCE of these autoantibodies could predict lower fertilization rate and lower pregnancy rate.
