This test serves as a biomarker to detect a subset of tumors, principally hepatocellular carcinoma and endodermal sinus tumors. HIGH levels are found in Hodgkin’s disease, lymphoma, brain tumors, renal cell cancer, and other types of cancer. Specimen Preparation Allow specimen to clot completely at room temperature. Separate from cells within 2 hours of collection.
