Urinary urea is INCREASED with high dietary protein intake, hyperthyroidism, and after surgery. DECREASED levels are seen in liver disease, renal damage and insufficiency, toxaemia and convalescence. See Urea, Serum
Transfer 3 mL aliquot from a well-mixed 24-hour collection. (Min: 0.5 mL) Record total volume and collection time interval on transport tube and test request form.
