المجموعة المرجعية

Bartonella henselae is a proteobacterium that causes many human diseases including cat-scratch disease, which occurs after a cat bite or scratch. The disease consists of lymphadenitis in one or more regions with, in some cases, concomitant systemic symptoms. Symptoms may include fever, headache, fatigue, and poor appetite. In immuno-compromised individuals, infection can induce Pupura hepatitis, or bacillary angiomatosis. Presence of IgG antibodies in the absence of IgM antibodies indicates past infection and immunity. However, a RISING IgG titre indicates current or acute infection.
