Inhibin A - Ultrasensitive - serum

Reference Range

Inhibin A is a glycoprotein hormone secreted by the gonads which inhibits production of follicle-stimulating hormone. It is also produced in the pituitary gland, placenta and other organs. In females, inhibin A reaches its peak in the mid-luteal phase. While in males, it is secreted from the Sertoli cells, located in the seminiferous tubules inside the testes where it helps to locally regulate spermatogenesis. Androgens stimulate inhibin production. See also Prenatal Maternal Quadruple Screen; and Inhibin A (Prenatal Screen), Serum
